Our local U.S. Forest people must have been bored or really needed that "fire pay" because this started as a "controlled burn" and it got away from them. Our local fire crews were involved with another fire in southern Arizona. Hot shot crews had to be called in and fight this one. Due to high winds and unusually hot weather it spread rapidly. Today they have it contained. Instead of the planned 90 acres it is several hundred acres. Because of the high fire danger the U.S. Forest Service has closed the mtn. P.S....The temp. dropped from 110 to 74 in two days. With the lower temp. came rain (over .60) that put the fire out. Think of all that lost "fire pay."
