Labor Day in Snowflake

We decided to take advantage of the Labor Day weekend and go to Snowflake. We left after school on Friday and found a motel in Taylor. Saturday morning we attended the temple for a session. That is the first time we had been to the Snowflake Temple. It is really nice. The picture of the temple is one we took from the fairway of one of the golf holes. After the session we went to the "world famous" Taylor Sweet Corn Festival. It was all we had hoped for and more. Mom and I had a couple of ears of corn and left. With the price of everything you had to be a millionaire to stay very long. We came to this conclusion when we saw a small bowl of shaved ice for $2.50 (half the size of our $1.00 size). We then met up with Larry Titus and Steve Schnieder at the HS volleyball game. Steve told us to go out to the golf course and take one of the carts and drive around the new part of the course. This is the first time I've been on the course since 1998. Boy is it nice!! We then visited Larry and Nancy Titus for a few hours. Sunday morning we attended "Bishop" Titus' ward meetings. After church we drove to Eager to see Kay Mullenaux and her new home. We returned to Snowflake that evening. Next morning we headed home by way of Young. That is a very beautiful drive (Heber to Roosevelt Lake). We checked out the campgrounds at the Lake, had lunch in Globe, and drove home. All in all it was a very nice weekend.
